ABA Opener Exchange

How the Exchange works

The ABA Opener Exchange was established to help our members build their collections while securing one of each type of existing opener for the ABA Museum Inventory. The Museum does not exist now, but is one of our primary goals and it will become a reality in the future.

To achieve our goal of one of each type of opener, our members have been donating their duplicates to the ABA Opener Exchange for several years. Extra openers received are available to members on a one-to-one exchange basis.

Members requesting the exchange receive a list of available openers, listed by type and brewery. They then select the openers desired from the exchange list and indicate which openers they are returning in exchange. Your replacement must be one that is new to the exchange. It does not have to be of the same type, but the value of the traded opener should be close to the value of the opener you desire. You cannot trade a quantity of one opener for multiple openers from the exchange (i.e. 10 of the same Pabst opener for openers from 10 different breweries).

Any donations that you include to help the exchange or build the ABA collection are also appreciated and will be acknowledged in a future issue of the American Breweriana Journal.

When you are ready to trade the openers, return the exchange list to the co-ordinator, with your trades. You should also enclose the postage that it will cost the co-ordinator to send you the openers that you have indicated.

Ther are currently 1,570 different openers available.
