Our brewery was founded in 1987 in the heart of the scenic Columbia River Gorge, in Hood River, Oregon. Employee-ownership, a long time vision of co-founders Irene Firmat and Jamie Emmerson, became a Full Sail reality in 1999. At Full Sail, we have always been committed to quality, so being employee-owned means the ultimate commitment to quality.

Over the years, we have stayed true to traditional hands-on brewing by using only the finest ingredients and natural spring water from Mt. Hood. One of the first Oregon microbreweries to bottle beer, Full Sail has evolved into one of the top five craft breweries in the Northwest. Despite growth and expansion, Full Sail has kept its commitment to hands-on brewing and absolute consistent quality. While many breweries have gone to automated brewing, Full Sail has adhered to the philosophy that it's the people, not the technology that makes the difference. Full Sail employs 56 people, and is the only brewery to have ever been named to the "Best 100 Companies to Work For, in Oregon" list by Oregon Business Magazine, we have proudly maintained that distinction for five consecutive years.
