June 23, 2008 2008 Annual Meeting a Great Success The XXVII ABA Annual Meeting held in Dubuque Iowa June 16-21, 2008 was once again a success! It was indeed a very special time renewing friendships, great tours, local pub-crawls and the highlight of this years meeting, the National Brewery Museum and Reference Library opening! After the ribbon cutting, touring of the museum and dinner at the Holiday Garden, June 19, 2008, everyone went home well satisfied that the many years of effort were well worth it. Members in attendance were also given a copy of the Museum Commemorative Edition of the American Breweriana Journal. The Museum has been restored in a first class manner. There are some fantastic displays of very fine pieces of memorabilia from the ABA collections. Most importantly, are presentations of the fine breweriana from various members who agreed to exhibit from their personal collections. The Saturday Public Buy-Sell-Trade Show was well attended with a huge amount of raffle prizes. The Annual Awards Buffet Dinner also was well attended and the food, delicious. Many awards were presented including a Life Achievement Award to Stan and Chris Galloway. All are looking forward to next years meeting in Madison Wisconsin. This will give members another opportunity to visit the National Brewery Museum & Reference Library in Potosi, a short drive from Madison.
